Do you get upset about the state of the world? Does the suffering of others keep you awake at night? Do you feel another’s hurt as if it were your own?
When I first started talking with Nantene and Malachor, I asked them about a high-profile missing child I was upset about. I wanted to help and I asked them what I could do. Their answer? Be at peace.
They told me that the best contribution I could make the situation was to be peaceful because my upset feelings were not contributing anything helpful.
When I asked how to be at peace, the answer surprised me. You’ve probably heard about it before and perhaps – like me – you dismissed its importance.
If you want to help, you can read this abridged transcript of our discussion and try what they suggest for yourself.
Please note: I removed the name of the missing child from this transcript out of respect for the family.
